Medellín is the second biggest city in the country and, perhaps, the most avant-garde.
It is not only a symbol of pride for its inhabitants, better known as \"paisas\", but for the entire country, as it’s a model of wonderful urban planning, quality of life and citizenship.
During the 80s and 90s, the city suffered the consequences of organized crime and drug trafficking. But recently Medellín has experienced a deep social transformation, one that saw it being awarded the title of most innovative city in the world, according to the non-profit Urban Land Institute, in 2012.
Known as “the city of eternal spring”, Medellín is undoubtedly a special city. The friendliness of its people, its wonderful climate, its gastronomy, are qualities that win the hearts of all those who visit.
