The first night introduces Colombia through the music of Carlos Vives. Inside a venue filled with memorabilia and coastal character, a family-style dinner brings traditional flavours to the table while live performers move through cumbia and vallenato. Later, the DJ takes over and the room becomes the group’s first dance floor. Dinner begins the evening; Colombian rhythm finishes it.

Monserrate and Bogotá’s historic centre

The day begins above the city at Monserrate, with the entire capital spreading across the plateau below. Back at street level, an expert guide leads the group through La Candelaria, Chorro de Quevedo, Plaza de Bolívar and the Gold Museum, connecting pre-Columbian stories, colonial history and the Bogotá of today.

Lunch at Madre

Hidden behind an unassuming entrance in La Candelaria, Madre pairs contemporary cooking with a relaxed, design-led space. It is a sophisticated pause in the historic centre without losing the neighbourhood’s creative energy.

Evening

Beer and tejo tournament

Tonight the group plays rather than watches. Teams throw weighted metal discs toward clay targets charged with small packets of gunpowder—the unmistakable sound of tejo. Craft beer, shared Colombian food and friendly competition turn one of the country’s traditional games into a loud, social final night in the capital.

Afternoon

Downtown Medellín by e-bike and scooter

Medellín is discovered in motion. Riding through downtown, the group encounters museums, public art, sustainable buildings and neighbourhoods that reveal how the city responded to decades of violence with creativity, mobility and community-led change. It is not a story told from a bus; the city unfolds at street level.

Dinner at Voraz

In El Poblado, Voraz brings Colombian ingredients into a lively contemporary kitchen. Bold flavours, fire and a warm atmosphere introduce Medellín’s modern dining scene while the lights of the Aburrá Valley rise around the group.

El Peñol and its panoramic view

The landscape changes outside Medellín as mountains open onto a vast reservoir. Guests who choose the climb ascend El Peñol for a panoramic view over hundreds of green islands and waterways; those who remain below enjoy the scale of the rock and the surrounding countryside.

Guatapé and the reservoir

After a traditional lunch, the group walks Guatapé’s bright streets, reading the painted zócalos that tell the stories of its homes and businesses. The day then moves onto the reservoir aboard a private pontoon, with local drinks, music and mountain scenery replacing the city skyline.

At a traditional coffee farm, the family that preserves the land’s knowledge guides the group from seed and harvest to drying, roasting and preparation. A tasting of special varieties reveals how origin and process change the cup, turning a familiar drink into a story of craft and place.

Lunch at Marmoleo

Surrounded by the greenery of Llanogrande, Marmoleo closes the Antioquia chapter with fresh ingredients and a menu that moves between traditional and modern flavours. The countryside remains visible around the table.

Evening

Cartagena and dinner at Juan del Mar

The cool mountains give way to Caribbean air. In Plaza San Diego, Juan del Mar welcomes the group into a lively republican house where Mediterranean technique meets coastal seafood and tropical flavour. Music and the energy of the plaza make the third city feel different from the first bite.

Rosario Islands by private boat

The city walls disappear behind the group as the boat crosses bright Caribbean water toward Isla Grande. At a calm coral stop, guests can snorkel among marine life, swim near the mangroves or float with a cocktail. The day continues at an exclusive beach club with white sand, a traditional Caribbean lunch and time to enjoy the sea at their own rhythm.

Back inside the walls, Salón Tropical serves seasonal ingredients sourced from Colombian producers in a room shaped by live music and nostalgia. After a day in the islands, the restaurant brings the Caribbean back to the table.

An expert local chef introduces the ingredients and cultural influences behind Cartagena’s kitchen. Working together, guests prepare coastal recipes with fresh produce, learning how African, Indigenous and Spanish traditions meet in each dish. Then the class becomes lunch as everyone sits down to enjoy what they created.

A Voyage Through Cartagena’s Stories

The historic centre becomes a sequence of encounters rather than a conventional walking tour. Local artisans, dancers, artists and entrepreneurs host interactive stations devoted to handicrafts, salsa, urban art, tropical fruit and Caribbean flavours. At every stop, Cartagena is told by someone who helps create it.

African Heritage farewell celebration

Warm light leads the group into a ritual-inspired final evening. A cantadora’s voice, live percussion and dinner introduce the African traditions that shaped Cartagena before the rhythm intensifies and Mapalé dancers enter. The circle opens, guests join the celebration and a DJ carries the farewell late into the night.
