MICE Colombia · The DMC behind the moments that matter

The Colombia MICE market — meetings, incentives and events.

We design and operate three of the four MICE pillars end-to-end — Meetings, Incentives and Corporate Events — and we are the operator behind the opening, closing and side experiences that make a Conference memorable. One DMC, own offices in Bogotá, Medellín and Cartagena, in-house Happenings studio.

The four letters of MICE, plainly

M · I · C · E. Three we run. One we power.

MICE bundles four very different disciplines. Here is exactly what VAOVA designs and operates inside each one — so you can brief us with full clarity from day one.

M

Meetings & Retreats

End-to-end DMC

Corporate offsites · sales kickoffs · board retreats · leadership summits

Executive offsites in the Coffee Region, sales kickoffs in Cartagena, board retreats in Bogotá, leadership summits in Medellín. Venue scouting, F&B, transportation, technical production and on-site bilingual coordination — all in-house.

I

Incentive Travel

End-to-end DMCOur core · Crystal Award 2026

Reward programs for international top-performers · multi-night, multi-venue, narrative-driven

The discipline VAOVA was built for. Designed around our signature Happenings (the WOW factor of incentive travel) — recognized by the SITE Crystal Award 2026 for Excellence in Incentive Travel: Latin America & Caribbean.

C

Conferences

We power the side-events

Opening receptions · closing galas · VIP & speaker programs · transportation · off-site experiences

We do not run the plenary content of a congress (that is the PCO's job). We run the moments around it: the welcome night, the gala dinner, the executive side-program, the ground operation — the part delegates actually remember.

E

Corporate Events

End-to-end DMC

Gala dinners · milestone celebrations · brand activations · award ceremonies for international groups

Single-night, high-emotion corporate events designed with the same artistic discipline as our incentive programs. Concept, art direction, choreography and on-the-ground execution under one roof.

* Pure trade-show floors with exhibitor contracts (the strict “Exhibitions” sub-category) are operated by trade-fair specialists like Corferias (Bogotá) or Plaza Mayor (Medellín) — we are happy to recommend the right venue.

What VAOVA owns across MICE

The artistic moment and the full ground operation.

VAOVA is the rare DMC that combines two disciplines under one roof: the artistic craft of incentive travel — concept, art direction, choreography and on-the-ground production by an in-house studio of four — and the full DMC ground operation of a 45-person team with own offices in Bogotá, Medellín and Cartagena.

For incentive programs, that combination delivers Happenings — the WOW factor — on top of a controlled ground operation. For corporate meetings and events, we coordinate venues, production and on-site delivery. For conferences, we support opening and closing events, off-site experiences and transport. We do not run the plenary.

One DMC. End-to-end ground operation. The Crystal-Award incentive craft applied wherever it makes a difference.

In every MICE program, you get

  • Full DMC ground operation — airport transfers, transportation, hotel blocks, F&B, venue contracting, technical production, on-site staff.
  • In-house Happenings studio — concept, art direction, choreography and execution of the artistic moments inside your program.
  • Bilingual operations — English, Spanish and Portuguese coordination, with a 24/7 on-the-ground team during the program.
  • Three own offices — Bogotá, Medellín and Cartagena. The Coffee Region and other destinations run through long-term partners and our own program teams.

MICE in Colombia · FAQ

The questions buyers actually ask.

Is VAOVA a MICE operator in Colombia?
Yes — VAOVA is Colombia's award-winning DMC for the MICE market. We design and operate corporate meetings, incentive travel, executive retreats and corporate events end-to-end, anywhere in Colombia. Bogotá, Medellín and Cartagena are staffed in-house. The Coffee Region, Santa Marta, Tayrona, San Andrés, Cali, Barranquilla and other destinations are operated through long-term partners and our own program teams. The only MICE format we don't run as the lead operator is the standalone congress or trade exhibition — but we frequently power the opening night, closing celebration, executive side-events, transportation and city experiences for those programs.
Which MICE formats does VAOVA design and operate end-to-end?
Three of the four MICE pillars: (M) Meetings — corporate offsites, sales kickoffs, board retreats and leadership summits; (I) Incentives — reward programs for top performers, designed around our signature Happenings; (E) Corporate Events — gala dinners, milestone celebrations, brand activations and award ceremonies for international groups. The fourth pillar (C) Conferences and trade exhibitions, we partner on: we do not lead the plenary, but we are very often the operator behind the most memorable moments of the program.
How does VAOVA add value to a conference or congress in Colombia?
Even when another agency, PCO or association leads the plenary content, VAOVA is regularly contracted to handle the high-emotion components: the opening welcome reception, the closing gala dinner, the VIP side-program for sponsors and speakers, ground transportation, off-site experiences and the artistic Happenings that turn a conference into something delegates actually remember. The same craft that won the Crystal Award, applied to the parts of a congress delegates actually talk about afterwards.
What does VAOVA NOT do in MICE?
We do not run the plenary content of a multi-day congress (parallel tracks, abstract submission, sponsor booth sales, registration platforms) — that is the work of a PCO (Professional Conference Organizer). And we do not operate trade-show floors with exhibitor contracts, that is the work of trade-fair operators like Corferias (Bogotá) or Plaza Mayor (Medellín). Our MICE work covers meetings, incentives, corporate events and conference support: side-events and ground operations.
Where in Colombia does VAOVA operate?
Anywhere in the country. Bogotá, Medellín and Cartagena are staffed in-house. The Coffee Region, Santa Marta, Tayrona National Park, San Andrés, Cali, Barranquilla and less-trafficked destinations are operated through long-term partners and our own program teams. The three own offices (Bogotá, Medellín and Cartagena) anchor the operation; the brief always defines the destination.
Can VAOVA handle the full ground operation of a MICE program in Colombia?
Yes. Across all our MICE work we provide the full DMC ground operation: airport transfers, transportation, hotel block management, F&B, venue scouting and contracting, technical production, on-site staff, bilingual coordination (English/Spanish/Portuguese), risk management and a 24/7 operations team. With own offices and full in-house teams in Bogotá, Medellín and Cartagena, and operational reach across the entire country.
Why is Colombia a strong destination for MICE in 2026?
Because the country has reached a tipping point in infrastructure and reputation: 6.7M non-resident international visitors in 2024 — a national record (MinCIT) — and US$11.16B in tourism revenue in 2025 (Presidencia de Colombia); El Dorado Bogotá ranked #1 airport in Latin America and the Caribbean for 2024 across passengers, cargo and aircraft movements (ACI-LAC); three Four Seasons hotels (the only ones in South America); direct nonstop flights from 11 US gateways and 6 European hubs; and SITE choosing Bogotá to host the SITE Incentive Summit 2026.
