The historic centre becomes an interactive route of crafts, movement, art and flavour. Local artisans share their techniques, salsa dancers introduce the city’s rhythms, an urban artist guides a creative stop and tropical fruits and coconut water refresh the walk. Cartagena is not explained from a distance; it is experienced with its people.

Dinner at Salón Tropical

Seasonal ingredients from Colombian farms and producers arrive in a vibrant dining room shaped by live music. The menu is sophisticated but unmistakably coastal, giving the group its first taste of Cartagena with the rhythm already playing.

Caribbean Cooking Experience

Guided by a private local chef, guests work with fresh coastal ingredients and learn how African, Indigenous and Spanish traditions shaped Cartagena’s cuisine. Together they prepare the recipes, then turn the kitchen into their lunch table and enjoy the meal they made.

Cultural exchange in La Boquilla

In La Boquilla, the group meets a community that protects its Afro-Caribbean identity through culture and collective work. A hands-on exchange—built around music, movement or a friendly football match—creates participation rather than observation and puts local voices at the centre of the encounter.

Dinner and party at Andrés Carne de Res

A family-style dinner of grilled meats and Colombian side dishes begins the night, but Andrés is designed to escape the table. Performers, music, playful characters and dancing transform the restaurant into a celebration of Colombian icons. Dinner is the opening act; the party is the experience.

Private catamaran to Barú

Cartagena’s skyline falls behind as the group sails toward Barú aboard a private catamaran. A DJ sets the pace while drinks and appetisers circulate on deck. Guests dance, talk or simply watch the colour of the water change—the journey to the hotel becomes part of the reward.

Afternoon

The waters of Las Islas

At Las Islas, the afternoon opens into sea and mangroves. Guests choose their own version of the Caribbean: kayak, paddleboard, snorkel, swim from the beach or settle beneath the palms with the Rosario Islands on the horizon.

Evening

Bioluminescence and stargazing

After dark, the group enters water illuminated by bioluminescent plankton, with every movement creating a trail of light. Back on shore, the sky becomes the second spectacle as a guided stargazing experience connects the constellations above the island. No stage could reproduce this night.

Yoga above the Caribbean

The final full day begins quietly with a guided yoga session before breakfast. Sea air, tropical forest and the sound of the water reset the pace after Cartagena’s energy.

Mangroves, reef or beach

Guests can paddle through mangrove channels, snorkel near the Rosario Islands, join a beach activity or stay exactly where they are. The choice is intentional: after two highly social days, the island gives everyone room to enjoy the reward differently.

African Heritage farewell on the beach

Warm light and bonfires draw guests toward a table on the sand. A cantadora, drummers and dancers guide the evening through the African traditions at the heart of Colombia’s Caribbean culture. After dinner, Mapalé brings the circle to life before a DJ turns the beach into the final dance floor.

Breakfast at Las Islas

The program ends slowly, with a final breakfast between tropical forest and sea before the group leaves Barú carrying Cartagena’s rhythm and the stillness of the island.
